What qualifications do I need to work as per diem staff?
Per Diem staff members need to be licensed or certified in their area of expertise and have at least six months to one year of recent experience and strong references. In some instances, less than six months may be acceptable.

What benefits will I receive?
Many health care professionals and ancillary staff choose per diem work because they like the benefit of scheduling their job around life commitments. In addition, some see it as an ideal opportunity to try out a facility before taking on regular full-time employment at a particular facility.

How much do you pay?
Per diem staff is paid at a higher hourly rate than regularly scheduled staff because they are expected to go where they are needed on a moments notice. Rates vary, depending on a number of factors such as benefits, bonuses, dental, life, health and other supplemental insurances.

What type of assignments are available?
We have a wide variety of facilities we contract with throughout the State of Wisconsin. These facilities have varying needs from per diem or shift by shift scheduling, short-term assignments, long-term assignments, leased positions, temporary to permanent placement and direct hire placements.

How many hours would I be required to work?
You are required to pick up one shift every three months to stay active and not lose any bonus payments. The type of hours you work and the type of assignments you accept are completely up to you. We give you the flexibility and control to make your own decisions based upon your needs and your availablitiy.

How soon can I start?
Immediately, if you choose to do so. Complete the application listed on-line and the process begins. Once your on-line application is received and approved, we will send you an application packet. After your on-line application is received, you will be assigned to a recruiter who may contact you in the meantime while waiting for your paperwork. It is very important you get your completed paperwork to us as quickly as possible.

What is your dress code?
Dress codes very from one facility to the next. Normally, you are asked to wear a nursing uniform or scrubs. Dress codes will be explained to you prior to going on assignments.

What should I do if I do not like an assignment?
You should contact NFC as soon as possible. Call NFC whenever you have a problem on an assignment. In most instances you are obligated to finish your assignment at the facility. However, we will not send you back to that facility. NFC will make every effort to find assignments at other locations.
